Some friends and I have been trying out numerous electric RC planes and we recently came across the Aero Ace by Air Hogs.  It's a small 8.75" wingspan bi-plane that comes pre-assembled and with a RC remote that also acts as a recharge station.  It's easy to learn, a blast to fly, and virtually indestructible.  They can be had at Target for $29.99.
